At Atypic, good causes are what we’re all about. They’re the reason we get up in the morning and what we still think about (sometimes) in our evening bath. Causes change the world, and we still believe that’s possible. Our job is to help all those causes find a place in people’s hearts. Nothing could be more rewarding. The fun we have together along the way is just a bonus.
A bachelor’s degree in French literature and $300. That’s all Pascal Lépine had in his pockets 20 years ago when he founded Atypic, determined to help good causes secure the funding they need to make a difference. It just goes to show how doing a lot with a little has always been part of our DNA. And that a crazy dream can become such a clear, inspiring vision that lots of top talent rallies to the cause.

Our copywriters are not the only ones who write. Everyone here is welcome to join in the fun and share their expertise on our blog.
Without walls to close off individual offices, we’re free to think outside the box! And it’s much easier to trade ideas with colleagues and let them know about our successes too. In the kitchen, the purified water is crystal clear and there’s no need for plastic bottles. The organic coffee is good and strong, ready to jumpstart our creative thinking. Depending on the season, we might meet in the “aquarium” or in the alley. If you’re curious, come see for yourself!
Because true professionalism isn’t about wearing a suit or sticking to conventions, we’re strong advocates of flexible, responsible work schedules. We know that sometimes, things don’t go according to plan. That’s why we have unlimited sick leave and children and pets are more than welcome. We’re firm believers that you never stop learning, and we want our team members to find their work fulfilling. But because we also want our people to have a life, we give them their Friday afternoons off.
With yoga classes, “kitchen encounters,” lunch ‘n learns, a running club and chair massages, we have lots of ways to shake out our neurons and stay zen at Atypic. That’s probably why our world is so agile, and our team is so solid.
“Think globally, act locally” is a slogan we would have loved to come up with if we had been there back in the day. Today, it inspires us to focus our social responsibility efforts on important causes, both local and international in scope.
Greece, Brazil, Germany … At Atypic, we know we don’t have all the answers. That’s why we love to go out and see what people are doing elsewhere. To share our experience in our own non-profit sector and the lessons we’ve learned over the years, of course. But even more importantly, to foster dialogue about different ways of seeing philanthropy and advancing important causes.
We don’t see ourselves as just an agency. We’re also a corporate citizen, a mediator, an agent of change and a facilitator committed to defending the interests of the non-profit sector and giving it the recognition it deserves. That’s why we support projects, studies and initiatives that give causes greater visibility, more resources and, ultimately, opportunities to organize themselves more effectively as a group.
